The bookends of this album, "Chordal Emanations" and "Entropy", are intended to serve as a brief sonic portal representing the transition from undifferentiated sound > ordered sound in time > undifferentiated sound.

The title 'bits' refers both to the brief nature of the songs themselves, as well as the reality of the storage medium being reducible to 0's and 1's in the digital environment in which they were created and stored.

Yet, even as the digitized sunset (intentionally obscured with a downsampling filter on the image) still conveys a sense of warmth in the viewer who can project their own experience of sunsets onto the images, may the songs also evoke memories, feelings, and experiences in the listener in the way that only sound can.
